In fields of white, where frost doth gleam,
I looked upon a wonderous scene -
Do's shields and swords with hearts of ice,
made grown men stop and wonder twice.

With every blow, the snow doth fly,
Their weapons clash, and heroes die.
The crunch of boots, the muffled cries,
Echoes of triumph, lost in skies.

Yet in the stillness of the night,
When stars do shine, and winds take flight,
A sadness grows, a mournful sound,
For all the fallen, on this ground.

For many lives, in ice and snow,
Were lost to battles long ago,
Their spirits roam, where cold winds blow,
In frozen wastelands, far below.

So thus we honor these brave hearts -
Who fought with might and played their parts.
Their memory, in ice and snow,
Their tales of triumph - and of woe.
